Q&A
What is the best restaurant in Victoria?
This is an impossible question! A better question is... what is the best _______ restaurant in Victoria. That is why there are 20 recommendations in the guide - and why there will be more guides.
Where did the idea for Tastebud Guides come from?
I was doing research about where to eat in San Francisco, and discovered that there wasn't a succinct, cross-referenced eBook guide that would recommend me a handful of places not to miss in the city. I also realized that if I were to imagine something for Victoria that I had already done all the research, and had drafts of most of the content. Once I had that idea, I recognized that other bloggers might be interested in a similar platform.
How many Tastebud Guides are in the works?
The platform for developing more eBooks is still in the works, but conversations have been started with local food bloggers about future guides on specific topics.
How would someone work with you to create their own Tastebud Guides title?
Stay in touch via email or social media for calls for proposals of future guides - likely in the Winter of 2012.

Name: Jen Reiher
Title: Chief Food Nerd
Hometown: Victoria, BC
LIKES
africanos, tuna sashmi, chai, spicy food, & herbacious spirits
DISLIKES
bread, rum, over-cooked bacon & fishy tasting things
Although a life-long resident of Victoria, Jen Reiher came to discovering its food scene fairly recently. She has since been on a crash course to educate herself about every possible great local flavour in Victoria, and has spent the better part of the last decade passionately sharing those food recommendations with others. After blogging her way through 150 restaurants in the city, she combined her passion for food with a life-long interest in technology and became an 'entreprenerd' by founding Tastebud Guides.
